Follow vs join on myfans: what each one unlocks
On a myfans creator page you will see two buttons that look similar: Follow, and Join plan. They unlock different things. myfans' help has no single follow-vs-join explainer, but its articles define the pieces. Put together, this is the official picture.
The three doors on a creator page
The help lists user actions separately: view posts, follow, like, join a plan, buy single posts, send tips and super comments, use DM.
Door 1 — just visiting: posts not tied to a plan and not sold as singles are visible to all users. This is the creator's public showcase — judge them here before paying.
Door 2 — following: a separate, lightweight action. Following does not unlock plan posts, and there is no officially stated follower-only tier. Not stated: whether following costs anything (no price is attached anywhere) or what notifications it triggers.
Door 3 — joining a plan, including free ones: plan posts are viewable only after joining. This includes ¥0 free plans — "free" means ¥0, not "no action needed". Before joining a paid plan:
- Cancelling a monthly plan ends access to its posts that day; no prorated refunds. 3/6/12-month bundles cancelled on or after 14 Nov 2025 19:10 (JST) stay viewable until the end of their term; rules can differ by sign-up date, so check the cancellation screen.
- Back numbers: new members see the current and previous month; older months are a separate per-month purchase, and cancelling ends that access too (re-joining does not restore it).
