Short answer
Seen “Cheki” next to a photo offer? You may already know the brand by another name: instax. Here’s the small bit of Japanese that makes the listing easier to read.
Two names for the same system
Fujifilm’s official introduction describes instax as the formal name and Cheki as its nickname in Japan. Its history began in 1998. You do not need to learn a different camera brand to understand the word.
A camera photo or a smartphone print?
Fujifilm’s consumer site lists cameras that produce an instant print and printers that turn smartphone images into prints. It also shows mini, square and wide formats.
When reading an offer, look for the seller’s actual description: what image, what format, and what item is included. This is a reading checklist, not a promise that every creator sells the same kind of print.
Keep the item separate from access
If an offer mentions a print and a fan plan together, check the terms for each part. The meaning of the camera name cannot tell you which subscription, delivery, or signing conditions the seller has chosen.
