Short answer
Someone sent you a Fantia gift code, or you’re thinking of buying one for a friend. Before you redeem it, it helps to know what it covers, how long it lasts and what happens when the month ends.
What a gift code covers
A gift code lets its recipient join a paid plan without paying the plan fee for the month of redemption. That month is all it covers, and a code can’t be used to renew the same plan. Some content may stay out of reach: content whose joining deadline (入会期限) has passed may remain unavailable even after you redeem a code.
How to redeem a code
Go to the checkout for the plan your gift code is for (a code works only at its target plan’s checkout), choose the “ギフトコード、無料チケットを使う” (Use a gift code or free ticket) option and enter your code there.

The rules on each code
Each code can be used only once, and it expires 180 days after it’s issued. The person who bought it can’t redeem it, so a code is strictly a gift for someone else. If a code expires, or stops working because the plan or fan club it’s for has closed, it isn’t refunded. So it’s worth redeeming a code soon after you receive it.
Renewal: check this before the month ends
Fantia’s gift-code guide warns that if you have a credit card registered, the plan renews as a paid plan on the 1st of the following month. If you leave the plan instead, you lose access to the fan club’s exclusive content.
Gift codes vs free tickets
Fantia also has a separate free-ticket feature, and it works differently. With a free ticket, the creator sets a free paid-plan period in whole months, up to five months. A gift code, by contrast, is bought by someone else and covers the month you redeem it.
If you bought a code for someone
Codes you’ve bought appear on the order-completion screen, in your order history (注文履歴) list and on the order-details screen. Pass the code on to your friend, because you can’t redeem it yourself. For paying from abroad and how Fantia plans work, read Fantia outside Japan.
