My card worked on myfans before — why does it fail now?
This page uses only myfans' own help centre and terms. Where myfans does not say something, we say so.
1. myfans says some cards can stop working
myfans' help says a card can become unusable because of a decision by its payment-system company, even if it worked before or works on other sites, and that myfans cannot say which cards are affected. The Japanese help asks you to use another payment method; the English help asks you to use another card. If a renewal date arrives while the card cannot be used, the automatic renewal fails, the plan is cancelled and myfans sends an email.
2. The failing charge may be Premium
myfans Premium (¥1,980 a month plus a purchase fee; the annual option works out at ¥1,650 a month, which myfans describes as about 17% off) is a separate contract from creator plans, so each charge succeeds or fails on its own.
3. Phone verification comes before every payment
myfans does not take payment until phone verification is complete. Whether non-Japanese numbers can be verified is not stated in the help.

4. The total is higher than the plan price
A purchase fee is added at checkout. The Japanese plan-system article gives no rate; the English version of the same article states 5%. Check the total on the checkout screen.
5. A renewal shows "payment failed"
For a card-paid plan, the Japanese help says you can change the payment method and pay again within 14 days of the failure; after 14 days the plan is cancelled automatically (Japanese help only).
Your card's own settings
Settings that can block an overseas payment are controlled by your card issuer. myfans' official help does not describe issuer-side settings; check your own card's settings with your issuer.

Q. Did myfans change its payment methods? A. As of 30 October 2026 the official list still shows cards (Visa, Mastercard, JCB), BitCash, Paidy, atone and deferred payment.
