MyFans Payment Methods for Overseas Fans
Overseas fans pay for MyFans by card. This guide covers which cards work, when you are charged and what to do if a payment fails.
Accepted payment methods
MyFans’ help centre lists Visa, Mastercard and JCB credit cards, BitCash, Paidy and atone/deferred-payment options. Which methods are available depends on what you are buying.
Debit and prepaid cards may be usable, but MyFans notes that a card can still be declined.
Paidy, atone next-month payment and deferred convenience-store or bank-ATM payment require a Japanese phone number that can receive SMS — so overseas fans will normally pay by card.
When you are charged
You pay when you first join a plan and again each time it renews. Plans renew on the same date each month (if that date does not exist, e.g. the 31st, renewal moves to the last day of the month).
At renewal MyFans normally charges the card you used to join. If you have removed that card, it may charge your default card instead.
If a renewal payment fails, you have 14 days to update your payment method; after that the plan is cancelled automatically.
Currency and fees
Prices are listed in Japanese yen, and MyFans adds a purchase fee at checkout. Your card company converts the amount at its own rate and may add an overseas fee.
Quick answers
Can I use PayPal?
PayPal is not listed among MyFans’ payment methods.
Does removing my card cancel my subscription?
No. Renewal can fall back to your default card. Cancel the plan itself instead — see our cancellation guide.
