How to Pay for MyFans Without a Credit Card

Updated 9 October 2026 · Checked against the MyFans help centre: 9 October 2026

Short answer

Besides Visa, Mastercard and JCB cards, MyFans lists BitCash, Paidy (あと払い), atone (翌月払い) and deferred payment (後払い). Paidy, atone and deferred payment are only for users with a Japanese phone number that can receive SMS. BitCash has no such note, but it can’t pay for tips or super comments, and creators’ first-month discounts don’t apply with it. Debit and prepaid cards count as cards.

MyFans lists four payment methods besides cards. Three of them need a Japanese phone number, and none of them covers every kind of purchase. Here is what each can and can’t pay for, so you can check before you rely on one.

What each method can pay for

This table follows MyFans’ payment-methods page as of 9 October 2026. “Premium” is MyFans’ own myfans Premium membership; tips and super comments are grouped together, as MyFans groups them.

DM-only sales, which creators send through messages, accept all five methods. Our card payment guide covers cards in more detail.

BitCash: what to check first

BitCash is the only non-card method on MyFans’ list without a note about needing a Japanese phone number. But MyFans’ help centre doesn’t say whether BitCash can be bought or used from outside Japan, so check that on BitCash’s own official site before you count on it: where codes are sold, whether you can register from your country, and any limits on topping up.

Be aware of what BitCash doesn’t cover on MyFans. It can’t pay for tips or super comments. Creator first-month discounts (campaign prices) don’t apply when you pay with BitCash. BitCash isn’t on the list of methods that creator coupons work with. And MyFans’ re-payment process for failed renewals covers card payments only, so it doesn’t apply to BitCash.

We don’t recommend third-party resellers of prepaid codes or any “bypass” service. If a code or a seller isn’t listed by BitCash itself, you have no one to turn to if it doesn’t work.

Paidy, atone and deferred payment

All three are Japanese buy-now-pay-later services. MyFans says they can be used only by people with a Japanese phone number that can receive SMS. If you don’t have one, they aren’t an option, and we don’t recommend rented or temporary Japanese numbers to get round this.

For people who can use them: Paidy covers plans, Premium, single posts, tips and super comments. atone and deferred payment cover plans, Premium and single posts, but not tips or super comments. Bills for atone and deferred payment come from those companies, so payment questions go to them rather than to MyFans.

Debit and prepaid cards

MyFans says debit, prepaid and credit cards can all be used, but that a card may not work depending on its status. If MyFans shows ご利用可能なカードが登録されていません。 (no usable card is registered), its payment company has refused the card. MyFans can’t tell you which cards that company accepts — see error messages.

Prices are in yen. If you pay in another currency, your card company sets the exchange rate and may add its own overseas fee. Ask your card company for details.

Two things that apply whatever you use

MyFans’ payment page says a card must be registered on the payment-method screen, using カードを追加 (add card). Its help centre doesn’t say whether that applies when you pay only with another method, so check the checkout screen before you rely on one. MyFans also asks for payment details even when you join a free plan, though you aren’t charged for free plans alone.

You must verify a phone number before you can pay at all, and enter your name and phone number at checkout. A non-Japanese mobile number works for this — see phone verification.

Discounts and coupons by payment method

Creator coupons work with Visa, Mastercard and JCB cards, Paidy, deferred payment and atone. MyFans says American Express can’t be used with coupons at the moment. If a coupon would bring the price below ¥100, you can’t pay that amount by card.

Some payment methods can’t receive campaign (first-month) prices. MyFans says the confirmation screen before you join will tell you if yours can’t, so read it before paying.
