Can You Pay MyFans With PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay?

Updated and checked against the MyFans help centre on 9 October 2026

Short answer

No. MyFans’ payment-methods page lists five methods: Visa, Mastercard and JCB cards; BitCash; Paidy; atone; and deferred payment at a convenience store or bank ATM. PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay aren’t on the list, and neither are PayPay or American Express. From outside Japan, the practical options are a Visa, Mastercard or JCB card, or BitCash.

Fans used to paying with a wallet button often look for PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay at MyFans checkout and don’t find them. This page sets out exactly what MyFans’ own pages list today, so you know what to have ready before you join a plan.

What MyFans lists, and what it doesn’t

Two official pages give the same list. MyFans’ help-centre article on payment methods (Japanese version, edited 23 June 2026) and the legal notice on myfans.jp required by Japan’s Specified Commercial Transactions Act (特定商取引法に基づく表記) both name the same five methods. MyFans’ terms also say fans pay using the payment services MyFans specifies on the site.

“Not listed” is all we can say. MyFans doesn’t publish an explanation of why a method is missing, and we found no announcement of plans to add PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay. If that changes, the payment-methods article is where it will show first, and we’ll update this page.

MyFans’ English payment page is older (last edited June 2025) and lists only cards, Paidy, BitCash and atone. It doesn’t mention PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay either. Where the two versions differ, we follow the Japanese page.

How card payment works instead

MyFans asks you to register a card on its お支払方法 (payment method) screen using カードを追加 (add card). In other words, you add the Visa, Mastercard or JCB card itself rather than a wallet. MyFans says credit, debit and prepaid cards can all be used, but a card may not work depending on its status.

Before any payment, MyFans requires phone verification (電話番号認証) by SMS or voice call. We’ve confirmed that a non-Japanese mobile number works; MyFans’ help centre excludes only numbers starting with 050. Our phone verification guide covers the steps.

Prices are in yen. MyFans says your card company converts the charge at its own rate and may add an overseas transaction fee, and that it can’t advise on exchange rates. Ask your card issuer what it charges for a foreign payment.

If MyFans shows ご利用可能なカードが登録されていません (no usable card is registered), its payment company has refused that card, and MyFans says it can’t tell you why. Try a different card. Our card declined guide goes through the checks in order.

If you don’t want to use a card

BitCash is the one non-card method MyFans lists without a Japanese phone number condition. It’s a prepaid balance. MyFans says it covers plans, single posts and myfans Premium, but not tips or super comments. MyFans also says BitCash can’t receive a creator’s first-month discount, and coupons don’t work with it.

Paidy, atone and deferred payment are Japanese pay-later services. MyFans says they can only be used by people with a Japanese mobile number that can receive SMS, so most fans abroad can’t use them.

Our paying without a credit card guide explains BitCash and the pay-later services in more detail, and payment methods shows which method can pay for what.

Be careful with “pay with PayPal” offers

Because PayPal isn’t an option on MyFans, some third parties offer to pay or top up on your behalf. MyFans doesn’t list any such service. Our advice is not to use them. Handing your MyFans login or money to someone else puts your account at risk, and any dispute would be with that third party, not MyFans.

MyFans also warns that it may suspend an account if a card company reports a payment as fraudulent. That’s another reason to pay only with a method in your own name, directly on myfans.jp.

No. PayPal isn’t among the payment methods MyFans lists on its help centre or on its legal notice at myfans.jp/trade (checked 9 October 2026).

Can I use Apple Pay or Google Pay on MyFans?

Not as a payment method: neither is listed. MyFans asks you to add a Visa, Mastercard or JCB card on its payment-method screen.

If it’s a Visa, Mastercard or JCB card, you can try adding the card itself on MyFans. MyFans says some cards may still be refused, and it can’t tell you which ones.
