Before you pay: the overseas fan's myfans checklist
A plan page shows a price and a join button, but what decides whether you get your money's worth sits elsewhere: the renewal rule, the cancellation rule and the checkout total. Work through these seven checks first. Every rule below comes from myfans' official help centre or terms, checked 26 October 2026.
1. Subscription or one-off purchase?
myfans sells two different things. Plans are subscriptions that renew automatically. Single posts are one-off purchases. They behave differently after cancelling or deletion, so check which one you're buying.
2. Is the creator still active?
Look at the date of the newest post on the profile; myfans doesn't publish creators' posting schedules. Under the terms (Article 18), a creator's withdrawal takes effect at the end of the month after they apply, and their page may be deleted 180 days after that.
3. How much of the back catalogue will you see?
Joining a plan doesn't open the whole archive. New members see posts from the current and previous month. Back issues can only be bought and viewed while you're subscribed — they aren't yours to keep, and they disappear if you cancel. Single posts you buy stay viewable even if the creator deletes the post, but not if the creator leaves myfans or myfans removes the post.
4. What happens when you cancel?
For a monthly plan, posts stop being viewable on the day you cancel, not at the end of the paid month. There are no prorated refunds, and plans renew automatically, so cancel by the day before renewal. Bundle plans (several months paid together) cancelled on or after 14 November 2025, 19:10 JST stay viewable to the end of the paid term; check what your cancellation screen says.

Purchase fees are added on myfans. Check the total and plan coverage before paying.
5. Will your card work?
myfans' official list is Visa, Mastercard and JCB cards (debit and prepaid accepted, though some cards may not work), plus BitCash, Paidy, atone and pay-later. PayPal isn't on the list. Paidy, atone and pay-later need a Japanese number that can receive SMS. You must verify a phone number before paying, and myfans doesn't say whether non-Japanese numbers work — so clear that step first.
6. What's the real total?
A purchase fee is added at checkout (myfans doesn't publish the amount). Prices are in yen and charged as the equivalent in your card's currency; your card company may add an overseas fee. Look at the checkout total, not the plan price.
7. What will show on your statement?
myfans says charges use a statement name other than "myfans". The exact text is not publicly specified. After buying, check the statement name in Purchase history.
Some plans show a first-month discount. The renewal after that is at the full price, so set your cancellation reminder with that in mind.
FAQ
Do plans renew automatically?
Yes; cancel by the day before renewal to stop it.
If I cancel today, can I watch until the end of the month?
Not for monthly plans; posts stop being viewable that day.
PayPal or debit card?
PayPal isn't on the official list; debit and prepaid cards are accepted (Visa, Mastercard, JCB).
Why is my charge higher than the plan price?
The purchase fee, plus any overseas fee from your card company.
Will joining unlock all past posts?
No; new members see the current and previous month, and back issues are viewable only while subscribed.
