BitCash for Japanese Fan Sites: How It Works

Updated and checked against the MyFans help centre on 10 October 2026

Short answer

BitCash is a prepaid e-money issued by BitCash Inc. in Japan. You buy it at Japanese convenience stores and other official retailers, then pay by typing its 16-letter hiragana ID at checkout. MyFans accepts it for plans, single posts and myfans Premium, but not for tips, first-month discounts or coupons. Fantia accepts it only indirectly, to top up Tora Coin. BitCash’s FAQ says cards issued outside Japan can’t be used to top up its online balance.

BitCash (ビットキャッシュ) comes up whenever fans ask how to pay a Japanese site without a credit card. It’s a Japanese prepaid e-money, not a cryptocurrency. This page explains what BitCash says about itself, where the main fan sites accept it, and the limits that matter, using only BitCash’s and the platforms’ own pages (checked 10 October 2026).

What BitCash is

BitCash describes itself as prepaid electronic money for online games, video, music, e-books and other web services. Its terms define it as a third-party prepaid payment instrument under Japan’s Payment Services Act.

Each BitCash has a hiragana ID (ひらがなID): 16 hiragana characters that work like a prepaid card number. At a participating site, choose ビットキャッシュ as the payment method and type the ID. On a physical BitCash card, the ID is under the perforated strip on the back. A separate 16-digit management number (管理番号) identifies it if you contact support.

There are two kinds. Store-bought BitCash comes on a card or receipt. My BitCash (マイビットキャッシュ) is a personal balance for members of BitCash Members, which is free to join, and can be topped up online.

Where to buy it, and what BitCash says about abroad

BitCash says it’s sold at convenience stores across Japan, Japan Post ATMs and other official retailers. Online, you can’t buy a new BitCash; you can only top up My BitCash, by credit card, online banking and other methods, with a monthly cap on card top-ups.

For fans abroad, one line in BitCash’s FAQ matters most: cards issued outside Japan can’t be used to top up My BitCash. We found no other statement on BitCash’s site about using it from overseas. So the only route BitCash itself describes for someone without a Japanese-issued card is buying it from a retailer in Japan.

BitCash also warns against buying it from resale sites, auctions or flea-market apps. It says discounted BitCash sold below face value may have been obtained by fraud, that such BitCash, and balances moved from it, can be suspended without notice, and that it doesn’t compensate buyers who bought outside official retailers. We don’t recommend any reseller.

BitCash on MyFans: what it can and can’t do

MyFans’ payment table (edited 23 June 2026) marks BitCash as usable for creator plans, myfans Premium and single posts, and not for tips or super comments. MyFans doesn’t list a phone-number condition for BitCash, unlike its Japanese pay-later options.

To get a first-month deal or use a coupon, pay another way, such as by card; MyFans notes that card payments don’t get first-month discounts on plans above a certain price.
