Short answer
Your pixiv request is finished. Can you post it, make it your icon, print it, or use it in a video? That depends on what you asked for when you sent the request, and on whether you’re the requester or a co-requester.
What you can always do
Whether you sent the request or joined it as a co-requester, you may enjoy the finished work personally and post it on your personal social accounts, as long as you credit the creator properly. Simple edits are allowed for that personal use too: cropping the work to fit an icon is the example pixiv gives.
Extra uses: ask when you send the request
Uses beyond viewing and posting on your personal accounts, namely the two extra options below for personal printed items and personal social-media content, have to be requested when you send your request. It becomes permitted only if the creator accepts the request and completes it. So decide on extra uses before you send, not after the work arrives.
Once additional usage permissions are granted, they can’t be revoked afterward.
The two additional options
The personal printed-materials option lets you make printed items for personal use, with minor cropping that preserves the work’s integrity. The social-media-content option covers personal content, including uses on video platforms, with minor edits that preserve the work’s integrity. Both options prohibit distributing or selling the work to third parties.
| Use | When it’s allowed |
|---|---|
| Enjoying the work personally; posting it on personal social accounts with creator credit | Always, for requesters and co-requesters |
| Simple edits for personal use, such as cropping to icon size | Always, as part of personal use |
| Printed items for personal use, with minor crops that preserve the work’s integrity | Only with the printed-materials option, requested when sending and accepted and completed by the creator |
| Personal social-media content, including video platforms, with minor edits that preserve integrity | Only with the social-media-content option, on the same terms |
| Distributing or selling to third parties | Not allowed under either option |
| Additional options for co-requesters | Not extended to them |
If you’re a co-requester
Co-requesters share the basic permission: personal enjoyment and posting on personal social accounts with proper credit. Additional usage permissions don’t extend to co-requesting fans, so a printed-materials or social-media-content option on the request covers the requester, not you.
For co-request access and privacy rules, read the pixiv co-requests guide.
Your own posts vs third parties
Posting the work on your personal social accounts with credit is part of personal use. Distributing or selling it to third parties is a different matter, and neither additional option allows it. For how requests work from start to finish, see the pixiv Requests guide.
