How to use myfans from Germany

Updated and checked against the myfans help centre on 3 November 2026

Short answer

People outside Japan can register for myfans; the help centre says registration is possible because card payment has been introduced. Germany is not treated separately in the official help: there is no Germany-specific payment list, and the help centre does not state whether a German phone number can be used for the phone verification that must be completed before you pay. Treat verification as the step that decides whether the rest works for you, and do not commit to a plan until your own number has passed it.

Check phone verification and payment terms before joining a creator plan.

Step 1: Create your account

Start on myfans.jp and create a fan account. The official article on what users can do lists following creators, liking posts, joining plans, buying single posts, sending tips and super comments, and exchanging direct messages. Registration itself is not the payment step. Keep the email address and password you register with: purchase records, your library and your plan list all sit inside that one account. The Japanese login article notes many reports of users accidentally registering a new account while trying to log in, which can leave the original account unreachable, so take care at the sign-in screen not to create a second account by mistake.

Step 2: Verify your phone before you pay

myfans uses phone number verification for security, and you cannot be charged until verification is complete. The SMS steps are the same in both language versions of the help centre. On the phone verification screen, enter the number of your smartphone or mobile phone, choose "Get by SMS", and a six-digit verification code is sent to that number. Enter the code and press "Verify".

Three limits are stated officially. The same phone number cannot be used to verify more than one account. Numbers beginning with 050 cannot be used. And if the SMS does not arrive, the help centre lists the causes to check: the number was entered incorrectly, your line cannot receive SMS, your phone is set to reject SMS, signal problems, or delay at the SMS sending centre, including carrier anti-spam settings that block numbers outside your contacts.

One point differs between the official language versions, and this guide keeps both wordings rather than choosing one. The Japanese help describes a second route, "Get by voice call", in which an automated call reads the code aloud. The English help says code reception by voice call is currently not available. If SMS fails for you, treat the voice-call route as unconfirmed and contact myfans support instead of relying on it.

The point that matters most from Germany: the official help does not state whether non-Japanese phone numbers are supported. That applies to German numbers. Do not assume your number will work, and do not assume it will not. Complete verification first, before any spending decision that depends on it.

Step 3: Payment methods, and which ones are open to you

The official payment article lists these methods: credit card (Visa, Mastercard and JCB), Paidy, BitCash, atone, and deferred payment. It also states what each method can pay for, and the limits differ.

Cards can be used for all sales types: plans, single posts, tips and super comments. Debit and prepaid cards can be used in principle, but the help centre adds that a card may not work depending on its status. Register your card on the "Payment Method" page, using "Add Card". JCB is handled differently: the English payment article says a JCB card cannot be registered on the Payment Method page, and is instead used by moving to an external payment system at the time of payment; the Japanese version does not contain this note.

The pay-later methods are the restricted ones. Paidy is described in the English payment article as being for users who have a number in Japan and a number that can receive SMS. The Japanese help applies the same kind of domestic-number condition to the pay-later methods as a group. In practice, readers in Germany without a Japanese number that can receive SMS cannot use Paidy, atone or deferred payment, and this guide does not present them as options. One more wording difference: deferred payment appears in the Japanese version of the payment article and is not listed in the English version, so this guide takes its existence from the Japanese text.

BitCash needs a caution of its own. The English payment article says BitCash can be used for plans, single post sales and the high-quality plan, and that the first-month discount on a creator plan does not apply with BitCash except for a free first month on the high-definition plan. The Japanese version of the same article states, in its text, that BitCash is for single-item sales only. The two official versions contradict each other on the scope, so check the payment screen for the specific purchase you are making rather than relying on either summary, including this one. Separately, for card payments, the first-month discount does not apply to plans above a certain amount; the official article does not name that amount, so check the payment screen of the plan you are joining. Where a reader in Germany can buy BitCash is not stated in the help centre.

What the official help does not do is name any Germany-specific method. No German or European local payment service appears in the official list, and this guide does not add one. A separate purchase fee is added at the time of purchase, per the official article on the plan system; check the total on the payment confirmation screen before you confirm, rather than working from the listed price alone.

Step 4: Prices in yen, settlement in your currency

myfans' notice of its 29 May 2025 terms revision states that fees are shown in yen, while the actual settlement may be made in a foreign currency. The official payment article covers foreign-currency settlement in two parts. The exchange rate is the rate set by the settlement company you use, such as your card company, at the time of settlement, and myfans does not guarantee or explain individual rates. Your card company may also charge a separate overseas settlement administrative fee, and the article directs you to your card company for those details. This guide therefore gives no fixed euro conversion. Any conversion you see elsewhere is a rough guide set by whoever published it, not a rate myfans has promised you.

Step 5: Join a plan, and know how leaving works

A creator plan is a monthly subscription; the cancellation article speaks of "the posts associated with the plan". Plans renew automatically in principle. The official cancellation article says to cancel by the day before the same day one month after the purchase date if you do not want the renewal, and it gives a practical warning for short months: if the previous month ends on the 31st and the current month ends on the 30th, cancel by the day before the 30th. When you cancel a regular plan, you lose access to its posts immediately, and no pro-rating or refund is made for the unused part of the period. Bundle plans are handled differently: the official bundle article says that if you cancel a bundle, you can still view posts until the end of the bundle's contract period. Your purchase history is where you check what you actually paid: open Account and then Purchase History, where each entry shows the product type, the creator name, the amount and the date, including automatic renewals, and, for card payments, the last four digits of the card. Payment information is not shown for free plans.

Step 6: Finding creators from Germany

Nothing in the joining steps above changes which creators you can see. The Japanese article on the search function says search covers genres, tags, creators and posts, and that genre and tag searches can combine up to three conditions. This site lists Japanese creators on myfans with English introductions; its creator index and genre pages are a practical starting point if Japanese search terms are the barrier. Read a creator's public profile before joining, to see which posts are associated with the plan you are joining.

If your card does not go through

Work in this order. First, confirm phone verification is complete, because payment is not possible before it. Second, confirm you are logged in to the account you verified. Third, try the official fallback the help centre gives: use another card. myfans states that certain cards may not be accepted because of the payment system company it works with, and that it cannot say which cards are affected, so a refusal is not explained by the help centre and is not, by itself, information about your card. Do not repeat the same payment many times in a row; check your purchase history first, to see whether a purchase has already been recorded.

Quick answers

Can I register for myfans from Germany?

The official help says foreigners can register, because card payment has been introduced. It does not publish a Germany-specific procedure.

Will my German phone number work for verification?

The official help does not state whether non-Japanese numbers are supported. Test it at the verification screen before spending.

Which payment methods can I plan around?

A Visa, Mastercard or JCB card, and BitCash — with the caution above that the Japanese and English help disagree on what BitCash can pay for, so check the payment screen. The pay-later methods require a Japanese number that can receive SMS.

Does myfans charge in euros?

Prices are shown in yen. Settlement may be in a foreign currency at the rate your card company sets; myfans does not guarantee or give individual guidance on rates, and your card company may add an overseas settlement fee.

If I cancel, do I keep access until the end of the month?

For a regular plan, no: access ends when you cancel, with no pro-rated refund. Bundles run to the end of their contract period.
