Finding Japanese Male Creators on myfans
Short answer
Learn how myfans orientation settings affect displayed content, and use search and rankings to discover male creators.
What the orientation setting is
The Japanese help article on orientation lists three choices: general adult (一般アダルト), gay/BL (ゲイ・BL), and all-ages (全年齢). It explains them by audience. General adult displays content for people who like women. Gay/BL displays content for people who like men. All-ages displays content for all ages. The same article warns that if your orientation is set to all-ages, posts from the other two categories are hidden, and that this includes posts you have already purchased. To view them, change the orientation back to general adult or gay/BL.
The English help article on the same subject is worded differently, and this guide does not merge the two. The English version says you can choose male or female, and that the content displayed changes with your choice: choose male and content for people who like men is displayed; choose female and content for people who like women is displayed. It does not mention the all-ages choice that the Japanese article describes. If your screen does not match one of these descriptions exactly, follow the labels on your own screen and treat the Japanese article's three-choice version as the fuller account.
How to change it
The two official versions also give different routes, so both are set out here. The Japanese article says: after logging in, select Home, select the gender mark at the top right, choose general adult, gay/BL or all-ages, and select Apply. The English article says: after logging in, select the Explore page, select the gear icon at the top right, select Male or Female, and select Apply. The Japanese article adds two limits. The setting described here is the viewer's setting, which you can change at any time. The orientation a creator sets when registering as a creator, for the side that posts, cannot be changed.
Change this setting before you judge what myfans holds. A search run under the wrong orientation is not evidence that a kind of creator is absent; it is evidence of the filter you were standing behind.
Searching once the setting is right
The official article on the search function, published in Japanese, says search covers four kinds of thing: genres, tags, creators and posts. Genre and tag searches can combine up to three conditions in one search. The same article explains how to reach genre rankings: select Rankings at the bottom of the screen, then the all-genres link at the bottom right, then a genre from the category list. It also contains a warning that matters to anyone typing Japanese search terms. Hiragana, katakana and kanji are treated as distinct. Its own example is the term ura-aka (裏垢): searching the hiragana or katakana reading does not hit it; you need the kanji form. If a Japanese term returns nothing, check the script you typed before concluding that nothing exists.
Rankings are a useful second route when you do not know any names yet. Browse the genre rankings under the orientation you have set, note the creators who recur, and then read their public profiles in full before joining anything. A profile tells you what a plan includes, how the creator describes their own posts, and whether posts are also sold individually. None of that requires paying first.

A worked example: Shibuya-kun
Shibuya-kun (@hqulbf) is a male creator listed on this site, and his listing shows the kind of information you can check publicly before joining. His profile was checked on 20 and 27 October 2026. The listing records 65.0K followers, 68 posts in total, and 67 items sold individually, and it tags his output as amateur and POV, with long videos among his tags. His own format, as described on the listing, is long self-shot videos that keep the whole sequence: the meeting, the main scene and the conversation afterwards, rather than highlights alone. The listing notes that his videos are edited to follow myfans' rules, so some parts are mosaicked. That last point is platform-wide rather than specific to him: myfans' help centre has an article stating that mosaic is required. He is listed with one subscription plan and no free plan, and his listing records his language as not recorded, so this guide makes no claim about the language of his posts. One example is not a census. Use him as a starting point for the search and ranking routes above, not as a measure of how many male creators the platform holds, a figure the official help does not publish.
Joining a plan, in brief
The steps are the same as for any creator. Verify your phone number before paying: verification is required before payment, one number can verify only one account, and numbers beginning with 050 cannot be used. Whether non-Japanese numbers are supported is not stated in the official help. Pay by one of the methods in the official payment list, which is headed by Visa, Mastercard and JCB cards. If you later cancel a regular plan, do it by the day before the renewal date, and expect access to end when you cancel rather than at the end of the period, with no pro-rated refund. What a fan account allows you to do, per the official help, is follow creators, like posts, join plans, buy single posts, and send tips, super comments and direct messages.

Quick answers
Does myfans have male creators at all?
Yes, and this site lists them; Shibuya-kun above is one checked example. The official help does not publish a count.
Why do I only see women when I search?
Your orientation setting decides what is displayed. Change it first, then search again.
I bought a post and it has vanished. Is it deleted?
Not necessarily. Under the all-ages setting, purchased posts are hidden too, per the Japanese help. Check the setting before anything else.
Do I need the gay/BL setting to see couples?
The official articles describe the setting by audience, not by each creator type. Check what your current setting displays, and read individual profiles for who is posting.
Will changing orientation affect my plans or purchases?
The official articles describe it as a display setting for viewers. They do not describe it as changing your contracts.
