Short answer
FANZA is a Japanese adult entertainment site that runs on the same DMM account as DMM.com. If you’re searching “FANZA English” or “DMM English” from outside Japan, the key fact comes first: FANZA’s own help centre says its service can’t be used from outside Japan. This guide sets out what FANZA and DMM say about access, cards and points, from their help pages only.
FANZA and DMM in brief
FANZA’s help says that using FANZA needs a free DMM account, and that one DMM account works across DMM.com, DMM GAMES, FANZA and FANZA GAMES. You can register with an email address or a Google, LINE or X account.
FANZA’s help says it deals in adult works and can’t be used by anyone under 18. If you pay by any method other than a credit card, FANZA asks for an official document to confirm your age.
Can you use FANZA from outside Japan?
No. FANZA’s help centre answers the question in Japanese and English: “FANZA is a site for Japan, so the service cannot be used from outside of Japan.”
Its help adds that the region message appears when FANZA judges a connection to be from abroad, and for people actually in Japan it lists things to check: an overseas internet provider, a VPN (including one built into security software), a proxy, or a browser it doesn’t recommend. That checklist is for users inside Japan. We don’t suggest trying to get round FANZA’s rule from abroad.
What DMM offers outside Japan
DMM.com’s help centre has its own bilingual answer on this. It lists the DMM services available to customers outside Japan, on PC and smartphone:
| Service | PC | Smartphone |
|---|---|---|
| DMM オンラインサロン (Online Salon) | Yes | Yes |
| 英会話 (English lessons) | Yes | Yes |
| teamLab Planets TOKYO ticket store | Yes | Yes |
If you searched “DMM English”, note that DMM’s English-lesson service is one of the few DMM services open from abroad. FANZA isn’t on that list.
Cards and DMM points (for use inside Japan)
If you’re visiting Japan, FANZA’s help says overseas-issued Visa, JCB and Diners cards can be used. It notes exceptions: FANZA Books, FANZA Books unlimited reading and FANZA Doujin take JCB and Diners only. DMM.com’s own help lists overseas-issued Visa, JCB, American Express and Diners cards for DMM services.
Whether a debit or prepaid card works depends on your card issuer, FANZA says. Its help warns that these cards are charged straight away and that a card check can briefly show up as a double charge, which the card company later returns.
DMM points (DMMポイント) are FANZA’s prepaid balance, usable on FANZA and FANZA GAMES. FANZA says you charge them by credit card, e-money or payment at a convenience store, and can also get them through campaigns. For videos, FANZA lists credit card and DMM points as payment methods.
English support
FANZA’s and DMM’s help centres are in Japanese. The answers on access from outside Japan are the exception: both include an English translation.
How MyFans differs
MyFans (myfans.jp) is a separate Japanese fan platform with its own rules. Its help says foreign users can register, and your own mobile number works for its phone verification. It lists Visa, Mastercard and JCB cards, plus BitCash and the Japanese pay-later services Paidy and atone; prices are in yen and your card company converts them.
MyFans is built around creators’ own pages and monthly plans, and its rules require mosaics on explicit areas. Start with our MyFans outside Japan guide, check MyFans payment methods, or read what MyFans is.
Everyone listed on JapanCreatorFind is a Japan-based MyFans creator who has agreed to be featured. Browse creators with English profiles and plan prices in yen.
