Is MyFans Legit? Who Runs It and How It Works

Updated and checked against the MyFans help centre on 9 October 2026

Short answer

Yes, MyFans is a real Japanese business. myfans.jp is operated by 株式会社Rise (Rise Inc.), which lists a registered address in Hiroo, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, and a notification number for an online adult-video business with a Japanese public safety commission. Its terms are governed by Japanese law. Users must be 18 or over, payments go through MyFans’ listed methods, and refunds are very limited.

Before paying a site in another country, it’s fair to ask who is behind it. This page sets out what myfans.jp itself publishes: the company, its address, its legal notices, its age rules and how money moves. Everything comes from MyFans’ own pages, checked on 9 October 2026. For the creator-side rules, see Is MyFans safe?.

Who runs MyFans

MyFans’ terms of use, privacy policy and legal notice all name the same operator: 株式会社Rise (Rise Inc.). The legal notice is the page that Japanese online sellers publish under the Specified Commercial Transactions Act (特定商取引法に基づく表記, at myfans.jp/trade).

映像送信型性風俗特殊営業 is a category of business defined in Article 2(8) of Japan’s Act on Control and Improvement of Amusement Business (風営法): broadly, transmitting sexual video online. MyFans’ terms cite that article and define creators (主催者) as users who have filed the same type of notification.

Note that MyFans (myfans.jp) is not the same as similarly named services in other countries; see myfans.jp vs my.fans.

Age rules

MyFans’ terms say people under 18 can’t use the service. Its help centre adds that 18-year-olds who are still in high school can’t use it either.

Creators go through identity checks before they can post or withdraw earnings. MyFans’ registration article says the name, address and date of birth entered must exactly match the ID document, and that an outside eKYC service checks for forged or altered IDs. MyFans may ask 18-year-old creators for proof such as a graduation certificate.

How the money works

Fans pay for creators’ plans and posts through MyFans. Under its terms, creators authorise MyFans to receive payments on their behalf, and MyFans adds a purchase fee at checkout. Prices are in yen; MyFans’ terms say the yen amount doesn’t change if exchange rates move.

What MyFans says about payment safety: you must verify a phone number before paying; fans pay through the payment services MyFans specifies; its privacy policy says it passes information to payment processors only as needed to provide the service; and its help centre says card details are deleted when an account is deleted. We haven’t found more technical detail on MyFans’ own pages, so we don’t claim more.

The payment methods MyFans lists are Visa, Mastercard and JCB cards, BitCash, and three Japanese pay-later services. PayPal isn’t one of them; see PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Refunds and support

MyFans’ legal notice says that, because of the nature of the service, contracts can’t be cancelled once made, there is no cooling-off period, and fees paid aren’t returned for any reason. Its help centre describes the specific cases in more detail, and our refunds guide goes through them. The practical lesson: check what a plan includes and when it renews before you pay.

For account or payment problems, MyFans directs you to the contact form on its help centre. Official messages from MyFans inside the site appear under the 運営事務局 (MyFans office) tab of your Messages screen. You can report a post that breaks the rules with the “…” menu on the post.

Quick answers

Is MyFans a scam?

MyFans publishes its operator, address, legal notice and terms, as Japanese law requires of online sellers, and it holds a notification number for an online adult-video business. That doesn’t guarantee you’ll like a plan, and refunds are rare, so check before you pay.

Who owns MyFans?

MyFans’ pages name 株式会社Rise (Rise Inc.) of Hiroo, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo as the operator.

Can I phone MyFans?

MyFans lists a phone number in its legal notice but says it doesn’t take calls, because staff work remotely. Use the contact form on support.myfans.jp.

Is MyFans related to OnlyFans?

No. They are separate companies, and MyFans is a Japanese service run by 株式会社Rise.
