How to Find Japanese Creators on MyFans
MyFans is built around Japanese search terms, genres and rankings, so finding creators from abroad takes a slightly different approach. This guide covers where to look, and how to judge a creator before you subscribe.
Step by step
- Set your content preferenceMyFans shows different content depending on your orientation setting (指向): general adult (一般アダルト), gay/BL (ゲイ・BL) or all-ages (全年齢). If adult posts are missing, change it from Home via the gender icon at the top right.
- Search by genre or tagMyFans search covers genres (ジャンル), tags (タグ), creators (クリエイター) and posts (投稿). You can combine up to three genre or tag conditions in one search.
- Type the Japanese wordHiragana, katakana and kanji count as different words, so copy the exact Japanese term rather than a romanised spelling.
- Open the rankingsTap Ranking (ランキング) at the bottom of the screen, then “全ジャンルはこちら” (all genres) and pick a category to see its creator and post rankings.
How genres and tags work
Every post on MyFans must have at least one genre and can have up to three. MyFans reviews the genres a creator picks and removes any that clearly don’t match the post, to keep genre rankings and search results consistent with what’s actually posted.
Tags are freer: a creator can add up to 20 to each post. On a creator’s profile you can tap a tag to see only their posts with that tag, which is a quick way to check whether they post much of what you’re looking for.
Japanese search terms matter more than English ones. Our MyFans in English guide lists common terms, such as 素人 (amateur) and コスプレ (cosplay), in the exact script to paste into search.
Using the rankings
MyFans updates its rankings daily. It says rankings weigh several factors together and doesn’t publish the formula, so treat a ranking as a sign of current popularity, not a quality score.
The most popular genres have their own ranking pages. For other genres, MyFans shows the ranking on the search results screen instead.
Browsing on JapanCreatorFind
If you’d rather start in English, browse our creator profiles. Each one summarises the creator’s style, plan names and yen prices, whether they post in English, and the follower and post counts we saw on their MyFans page on the date shown.
You can also browse by genre, for example amateur creators or POV creators. Our directory covers a selection of creators, so treat it as a starting point rather than a complete list of MyFans.
How to judge a creator before you subscribe
Start with what’s free. Any post not tied to a plan or a price can be viewed by every MyFans user, and on video posts in a plan you haven’t joined, MyFans shows a sample video in place of the full video. Between them, these give you a fair idea of a creator’s style.
Check how active the creator is. The total post count shows the size of the archive; the date of the newest posts — or the posts-in-the-last-30-days figure where we list it — shows whether they’re still posting regularly. A large archive with nothing recent is worth a second look before you pay monthly.
Read the plan descriptions. Each creator decides which posts go into each plan, and MyFans notes that a more expensive plan doesn’t necessarily unlock every post. If it isn’t clear what a plan includes, MyFans’ advice is to ask the creator. Our plans explained guide covers what to look for.
Check whether older posts are included. On plans with loyalty unlocks, you see only this month’s and last month’s posts at first. The plan page tells you if this applies — see free posts and older posts.
Following before you pay
Following a creator is free and is one of the basic things any MyFans user can do, along with liking posts and saving (bookmarking) them. Following doesn’t unlock anything: posts tied to a plan stay locked until you join that plan, even a free one.
From any post page you can also watch the sample, follow the creator, comment, share or report the post, so you can get to know a creator’s posts for a while before deciding which plan, if any, suits you.
Creators to start with
Quick answers
Why can’t I find a creator by their English name?
Most creators use Japanese display names, and MyFans treats hiragana, katakana and kanji as different words. Search by genre or tag in Japanese, or use the MyFans link on their profile here if we list them.
Why don’t I see any adult posts?
Your orientation setting is probably set to all-ages (全年齢), which hides adult posts — even ones you’ve bought. Change it from Home via the gender icon at the top right.
Does a high ranking mean a creator is good value?
Not necessarily. MyFans ranks creators on several factors it doesn’t disclose. Check the free posts, samples, recent activity and plan contents yourself.
